A price comparison site for California and Oregon cannabis, built to answer one question honestly: where is this cheapest right now?
What Strainline is
Strainline aggregates live menus from licensed dispensaries across California and Oregon and ranks every product cheapest first. It is independent: not a dispensary, not a delivery service, and not an ad network for either. Start from the coverage map, the California hub or the Oregon hub.
How ranking works
Ranked results are computed from these inputs. This is the complete list:
- Price per unit
price_per_unit - Package weight
weight_g - Cultivation method
cultivation_method
Nothing else touches the order. No dispensary or brand can pay for position, and commercial relationships are kept out of consumer ranking code by an architectural firewall, not a policy memo. Sponsored placements, if shown, are always labeled and never mixed into ranked results.
Where the prices come from
Prices are collected from dispensaries’ public online menus on a rolling schedule and stored as a time series, so pages can show real price movement instead of a single snapshot. Every price page states when its data was last updated. Menus change through the day, so verify availability and final price on the dispensary’s site before you buy. For adults 21+ where adult-use cannabis is legal; Strainline sells nothing and requires no account.
Use the data
Journalists and researchers are welcome to cite Strainline price data with attribution and a link. Each region has a dated price report (for example Santa Cruz prices), and any region’s cheapest products can be embedded on your own site with the free widget.
