Jack Herer is a sativa-leaning hybrid bred by Sensi Seeds in the Netherlands in the mid-1990s, crossing Haze with Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk. The cultivar is named for the cannabis activist Jack Herer, author of "The Emperor Wears No Clothes" — one of the founding texts of the modern legalization movement. Jack Herer has won multiple Cannabis Cup placements and remains one of the most-recognized cerebral sativas in legal markets worldwide. The aroma layers pine and spice over earthy citrus. Effects are energetic, focus-oriented, and cerebral, with minimal body component. THC tests commonly land in the 18-23% range. The cultivar is a parent of dozens of modern sativa hybrids.
